"Uncover a Piece of Gold Rush History at the Yuba River Inn!"

There is a main office/residence and another out-building coined the Chalet (cabin with laundry room), a robust workshop, in addition to the ten cozy cabins all featuring outside deck patio spaces for guests to thoroughly soak in the peace and quiet of this off-the-grid property. The cabins can accommodate a variety of family member’s needs with a mix of queens, doubles, single beds, bathroom, kitchenettes, living room and, of course, the lovely outdoor backyard and patio decks.

The Yuba River Inn, originally a piece of Gold Rush History starting with the Devine Family Farm in the 1800’s which supplied miners and townspeople with food. The property was purchased by the Tschopp family and established the inn with a swimming pool and cabin rentals. The resort was popular with busses of people coming up or down Highway 49 to enjoy the peaceful solitude and the pool. In the 1960’s it became a hub for many famous celebrities, authors and song writers to retreat and release their creativity in the peaceful environment of Sierra City.

The cabins have been renovated over the years and the main inn building completely restored after it burned in a fire in 1960. In 1988, the Herzberg family purchased the property and embarked on a full expansion and restoration. The family has offered guests an opportunity to enjoy secluded, genuine log cabins with private access to the river and swimming holes just walking distance to restaurants, shops and more.
